I bought this not as a toy but for games which we planned to play on Christmas day - four teams, four different sounds.

Obviously there was an inverse relationship between age and frequency of sensible buzzer pressing - the children took it all seriously and the older more mature members of the group seemed to think that pressing them randomly was the point of the game.

Overall though they were a great success. We play games quite a lot on various occasions - usually made up - which usually go down pretty well but the buzzers ceratinly added something to the event.

As for the actual game I really couldn't say except that from a random selection of cards it isn't easy!

Whilst a good game and makes you think I bought this for my nephews and the family to play when they visit as all these kids do nowadays is Playstation this, DS Gameboy that, Wii this. . . Kids do not like to think anymore . . .

We played this for this Xmas 2012 and nephews are 12 & 13 and they got one or two right, but the adults struggled as the descriptions of this game are designed to an AMERICAN market, the spellings are for the AMERICAN market and therefore i DO NOT recommend this game to UK consumers. Some questions can be got as they are universal spellings but this will not be enough to keep the kids as well as the family engrossed!

Had I known it was an AMERICAN aimed market game i would NOT have purchased this. . . . Also, the buzzers need 2 x AAA batteries each and are not supplied which is standard, but the idiots who designed them put screws in to open and close the battery compartment. . . . So be prepared to have a Philips screwdriver bought and left in the box to take out and put in the batteries. . . . Some of he buzzers are louder than others too and work independently of each other, so it takes an honest set of people to say who buzzed in 1st!

There are 2 levels in this game and we all struggled with both level 1 and 2, it's only because we get so much American TV here in the UK we got some of the answers, the kids did not enjoy this but they loved trying and in fairness the questions on the whole make no sense at all and even the adults guessed only to be surprised in cases you got the answers right!

STEER CLEAR AS YOU WILL HAVE SOME VERY DISAPPOINTED KIDS . . . AND ADULTS TOO!

-5 stars for UK consumers! (That's MINUS 5 stars!)

3 stars for USA consumers! (The battery compartment of buzzers are ridiculous)

I recommend this product to everyone everywhere! I bought this for kids in my class and they love it! We play team quiz games and they can't wait to press the buzzer! Loud and easily recognizable sounds!

Brilliant game. Kids loved it. Adults loved it. Used the buzzers for another game too. A few questions were American-ised, but we just took them out. Hoorah!

A little too advanced for a 7-year old! 27 April 2012

Bought this game for a boy turning 7 -- the age that the game said it's appropriate for. He is an excellent speller and has advanced vocabulary and verbal skills for his age. And, he loves word games. Thought this new game would be perfect! Once we set up the buzzers which all have different doorbell sounds and are very cool (be sure to have 8 AAA batteries on hand), we chose the first card of the easier group. The two words were: cede and seed! Really!! A 7-year old knows the meaning of "to voluntarily resign." His mother was very gracious and said that he'll learn even more words playing this game, but I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 12 (and I'm not sure I'd have guessed cede myself)!

Great product 9 Jun. 2014

I bought this because we needed some buzzers for my daughter's birthday party. The buzzers by themselves would have cost almost the same as the whole game, so I thought why not pay another buck or two to get the whole game. The buzzers work great, so we were able to use them for her party and have played the game several times at home. It is a simple game that my whole family can play. My youngest can understand how to play and has guessed quite a few of them, and my older kids haven't gotten bored with it. So it is a winner for me :)

A Learning Game Kids Love!! 20 Sept. 2014

I bought this to use as a "go-to" activity when I substitute teach. I have only used it a couple of times, so far, but the kids absolutely love it!! They have a little difficulty with the concept of "sound alike" words at first, but once they get it....well, they get it!! One of the teachers I subbed for even asked me what the kids were talking about and I recommended the game to them! I have a feeling that I will need to invest in some rechargeable batteries (each buzzer takes 2 AA batteries).

This game is awesome! My 6th graders love it, and is challenging for adults, too! The buzzers are great, and could be used for other made up review games! My only wish would be that the batteries be included!
