These rods are a really good way of getting my 5 year old to think about maths, without him knowing. As he also uses them at school he is familiar with them, but he will use them for general play at home. While playing with them he compares their sizes & uses different combinations to find equal lengths. He is a very 'hands on' type of learner, so these are ideal.

I have found this to be a useful resource in my capacity as a tutor. The rods are easy to understand and manipulate for children of all ages. The accompanying ideas book offers a starting point for the huge range of possible learning activities which develop various maths skills. Very pleased to have bought this item!

These rods are exactly what I expected : good quality, strong,nice colours, my son loves using them. The leaflet included is useful to know what to do with them if you haven't got a book about Cuisenaire.
