Small and fiddly to put together. Heavier on one side so keeps falling over! Cerebellum keeps falling off. Very disappointing. If there is a manufacturer of anatomical models and charts who wants to find a gap in the market, then produce some good, relatively simple, reasonably sized and durable models and charts on the brain for use with top KS2 pupils. Schools using the "Brainstorm" topic from the International Primary Curriculum will be eager to purchase!

I bought this toy as a prop for some training I had planned and was very disappointed. First of all I hadn't realised how very small it is....about the size of a golf ball, or smaller. It is awkward to put together and the instructions are not at all clear. I think an 8 year old would struggle, and no 8 year olds I know would get any enjoyment from it. At twelve pounds I think it is dreadfully overpriced. I wouldn't call it fun or educational, and certainly not value for money.

This is way too much money for a model only 5 inches high. The brain itself is about 2 inches high and 3 inches long from front to back. It was very difficult to assemble without it flying off somewhere and is impossible to pull apart to learn the parts inside the brain. A definite waste of time, considering I have a neuroscience exam in 2 weeks!

Definitely would not recommend it!

WARNING: IT IS TINY! Calling this "Learning Resources Anatomy" led me to believe I could use it for teaching. Do not expect to stand in front of a class and hold this up for students to see - they will not. The picture gives a grossly unrealistic view of how big it is. Just about OK for someone to have on their desk and work with on their own. Definitely not recommended.

Astoundingly good for the price and scale. When you dissemble / Assemble it gives you a detailed look at the brain, its internal shapes and major structures. For me I wanted a look at the inner core and the ventricles and connective structures, and as far as I can tell seems pretty good. Very nicely you can assemble the ventricles separately to get a good idea of their overall and very complex shape. There are plenty of neurological books with structures sectional maps and so on but for the brain they are no substitute for solid physical 3D models.
My only real complaint is that they should do a bigger and even better one for say £100. The tiny size does make some details difficult to see or show - like the cerebellum, or the optic nerves through to the visual cortex, that would be asking an awful lot of such a small model.
Recommended.

The product dimensions are completely misleading. Those are the dimensions of the BOX it comes in not the actual product. The product is tiny, barely the size of a tennis ball and it is fiddly to put together. I found it so frustrating that learning with it was a complete loss. Sending it back if I can, complete waste of money.

This little brain arrived. I must say I really didn't pay attention to the dimensions and was somewhat disappointed with the size of this 'toy'. It had many pieces of which are mostly already assembled in the box. leaving you approx. 12 bits to put together. It is helpful in understanding the positioning of the internal structures of the brain, e.g. ventricles but the hippocampus part keeps falling out until you press everything together to become a whole brain. generally it was ok. A little heavy on the stand so not really to be 'played' with once you've assembled it. As its not easy to separate one piece from another, you are not able to just take away one bit to reveal another as my 8 year old nephew established!

The rating of this product is soffering because of the inccrect placement in the "Toy" category.
It's not a toy. It's a tiny and very unexpensive brain model for med students (which I happen to be) or psycology students or, anyway, people having interest in the matter.
It's a nice piece to have on a desk and it's fun while studying neuroanatomy, though I wouldn't call this incredibly useful or helping while studying (you need a model at least twice the size and with much more details for the central part of the brain, qhich is just roughly pictured in this one.
Fellow students will call this "cool", but I suppose it's pretty lame and not fun at all for anyone below the age of 10.
It's not clumsy, but 31 pieces including the base are not enough to give it a "puzzling side": you won't feel the need to disassemble and assemble it again after 3-4 times.

So, depending on what you think to do with it andwho you are can go to "wow" (students of brain-related subjects, looking for something to put on the desk or the bookshelf with neuro books) to "bleurgh" (I guess pretty much anybody else for any other reason).
