This book has so far helped me to understand what to expect as my training progresses. It is helpful, in that it covers the wide range of types of ministry training and formation (colleges and courses etc).
Reading it was almost a devotional exercise for me, I've found it quite reasuring. A most valuable book!

Having just completed a Church of England lay ministry course I have found this book to be very helpful.
The sections on work and life balance and knowing God were particularly useful. The parts on study were less useful as having studied all my life I was aware of the issues.

A good introduction.
