Product Description

Product Description

Learning German can be a lot of fun, but starting out by studying grammar is an almost guaranteed path to frustration. This is not to say that grammar is not necessary for learning German, it's certainly helpful as a compass, but it's impossible to master conversation and text-comprehension through mere "calculation" of cases and conjugations.

Children all over the world are able to learn the most complex languages intuitively simply by listening and repeating. This book is an invitation to this more natural approach to language learning. While there are of course significant differences between the way adults and infants learn, everyone can benefit from the following materials, whether to brush up on former studies or as a first step in dealing with authentic materials.

I read this short story with my grandson, who has just started learning German. It was very good for building his confidence in reading, setence structureand and vocabulary. We both enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for german language learners 6 July 2012

I first became acquainted with Andre Klein's German language stories with Peter und das Huhn, one of a series of stories that lets language learners practice their skills on simple amusing stories. Bert das Buch is an engaging tale of a book who goes on an adventure. The pictures are much better in this book than in his previous books. The story is easy to follow and engaging for even someone like me, with minimal competence in German.

From a composition standpoint, the text may have rushed a little bit toward the end, and become a bit harder to follow. But it is also good to have a section that you have to push yourself to understand. It's still a fun book that I have read several times. When I am tired of studying German grammer, I often pick up a story in German for relaxation with a bit of practice. These stories of Andre Klein's: Peter und das Huhn, An Ocean Adventure, and Bert das Buch are right at the level for a beginning German student. I think they are well worth purchasing.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best one this far 8 Jan 2013

André Klein's visual books have helped me a lot in my German language studies- I think I am just too lazy to pick up the "real" studying book and read the boring and difficult texts.

This one is very funny and entertaining, pictures were good, the structure of the book was something different than usual and it really worked. Plus, this was long enough to be beneficial to the basic German language learner.

This book can be read also from the "zero level", but I recommend that you have some skills in German, for example the basic words and expressions, to make the learning fast and enjoyable.
5.0 out of 5 stars learning German Language 6 Nov 2012

these products are helping me to learn the German Language. They make easier the way to get the grammar without a hard preoccupation with it. It turns learning soft, by a natural way.
