Not the best (by far) book on meditation I have read. There are many better books available. However, who knows, it may suit some.

I thought it was no more than basic common sense, and not very well written. A waste of my time.

5.0 out of 5 stars good book 14 May 2013

I've actually needed this book for quite some time, I just have never picked one up is all. I picked up my copy on one of it's free days, so you couldn't beat the price. The author introduces you to a few of the techniques used for meditation so that you can find one that fits you. Then he coaches you on how long and how often to do it. And then he gives you extra pointers to help you on your way. It's quite a good book. One that I'm going to put to good use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank God for Simplicity! 23 Jan 2014
By AF - Published on Amazon.com

Thank you Von Deck for taking time to share these baby steps. It was so comforting to learn that meditation does not have to be a long, drawn-out process or so technical. I am ready and prepared now to settle into this beginning level and will reach for more of your work when I'm ready to step it up. Thank you for writing this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow. Just wow. 7 May 2012

I've read and heard everything Mr. VonDeck has to say on this subject. Just when you thought you knew it all, he enlightens you just a bit further and makes it easier to understand.

Most importantly, he doesn't talk down to you, he talks TO you.

He's the teacher and we are the student, which in turn means we must teach others.
