I bought this book as I'm going to work in India for six months, and have no prior knowledge on the language. The book has no phonetic translation to help you along the way, and is in no way long enough to possibly teach anyone Hindi in a month! The words are also not words that would be used every day either. When my copy arrived (which I ordered 'new'), the pages had been photocopied wrong and in the wrong order, with bad ink so it was already smudged, and the pages were cut unevenly. I now have a Hindi teacher who even says half of the transltations in script are wrong. Do not buy!!!! The only reason this book gets one star is because it is small, and well, if you do find it helps, it fits in your pocket. Not that you would ever want to use it!

This book is a waste of time and money. The English is in quite large print, but the Hindi is very small and so for someone not familiar with the style, it is very hard to see and therefore to apply to the lesson. There are also some dreadful printing errors which affect the whole of the reading: for example, in the opening (and fundamental) pages it says "each of the consonants contains at the and vowel sound" - obviously something crucial missed out. Save your money towards a better product.
