My son got this last month for his 4th birthday and absoloutely loves it and would happily spen every waking moment playing it.
Most of the games have good educational value although I am less keen on the Ben 10 game as it seems to involve lots of fighting which i would prefer wasn't included in a game aimed this age range. That said the other games seem very good - please release more soon and it's definitely my son's favourite toy.
The only other issue is the battery life which isn't long in our house due to the intense play - trying to sort out recharger which now seems available in US but not yet released here. I also hope the camera attachment will be available for Christmas.

It seems an interesting concept. My daughter liked it but the issue is that the parent has to continue buying applications for it and they are not cheap so the price of the toy continuously goes up. It does not com preloaded with a lot. Still it is fun.

Bought this with Penguins of Madagascar for my 4y old son. He loves it as does his 7y old sister who shares her Nintendo with him so she can play on the Explorer. English is actually the second language for both kids (German is the first) - so not only are they learning numbers, maths, colours, shapes etc - they are also improving their English! Much better than the previous leapster 2. Only ways to improve: bigger selection of Games (Disney Cars please!). Battery life is better than the Leapster 2 - but it could do with a rechargable battery pack (which for some strange reason is only available in the USA). Overall: Highly recommended - 5 Stars!!
