The Tag magic pen reads stories out loud and interacts with different elements of the book. As children touch the reader to the pages of specially printed Tag storybooks, children can hear their favourite characters speak, listen to pictures sing and hear the words on the page spoken aloud.
Tag works with a range of exciting book titles of well-loved characters. Children can explore classic books such as Paddington Bear and Cat in the Hat, or join popular characters such as Ben 10, Disney Princesses, Dora the Explorer and more. There are 18 exciting book titles to choose from and go on an interactive reading adventure.
Throughout the Tag books are fun learn-to-read activities and games, which introduce a variety of skills such as word building, reading comprehension, vocabulary and more. In addition children can unlock extra content online in the form of printable activities and certificates.
Amazingly easy to use, the Tag reader can store up to five books, allowing children to seamlessly move from one book to another. Tag also comes with an included book "Ozzie & Mack" that introduces over 17 learning activities.
Parents can also see their child's learning progress through the use of a unique online tool called the LeapFrog Learning Path. The tool allows you to see details as to which stories and activities your child is most engaged with and which reading skills they have been introduced to.

I bought this for my friends 8 year old daughter, and she tells me that Tallulah really loves her Tag pen and will not put it down. She uses her books to tell the stories to her younger brother, who sits patiently waiting to use the pen himself. Her brother is 4 so is just at the right age to use the Tag reading system properly, so now he wants the Disney Pixar cars and King Fu panda books for christmas. It is one of the most usseful present I have bought a young child, and I am so glad they are getting educational learning as well as lots of enjoyment and fun with Tag

This kept my 4 year old quiet for the entire 2 ½ hour journey to my parents last weekend, an absolute feat on it's own. Then you can add to the fact that Tag is teaching her to read too and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. Now she's bugging me to buy her more of the books that go with it.

This is an incredible item.
The pen comes with one book (Ozzie & Mac). I still can't believe how well this pen works.
If you touch a word on the page, it reads it to you. If you touch the 'book' symbol on the page, then it reads the whole page.
But it does more - if you touch ANY item on ANY of the pictures (and there are lots of them in the book) then it says a sentence or makes a sound.
My daughter is 3 1/2. She loves this toy and uses it every night.
It also has learning activities at the start (learn the alphabet) and back of the book.
We have also bought the under the sea book which is also good.
Did not have any problems connecting the pen to the PC (running windows vista). - if you buy a new book, you have to download the audio to the pen via a usb cable.

The 10 vs 5 book pen
Excellent product - technology works fantastically well - and a cheap price. Be aware, though, this is the old model that stores data for only 5 rather than 10 books. Read more
