Product Description

Tag Junior, the amazing little book explorer, is a great way to encourage toddlers to explore books. Tag Junior introduces preschool skills through fun stories and playful book based activities.

Expand the Learning Library
There are 15 books to choose from, including favourite characters from Thomas to Toy Story and Winnie the Pooh. Each has a different theme and introduces different learning concepts and skills. See all Tag Junior books.

LeapFrog Tag Junior

Smart Pen
Connect the Tag Junior to a computer to download each book, then it detects tiny markings on the surface of each page to precisely read words, recognise characters and other elements.
Full of Surprises
As well as reading the story, the pen reacts to other elements on the page, helping kids identify and learn about different characters and objects.

A Great Way to Start Exploring Books
Touch the Tag Junior to the words on the page to hear the story read aloud, in lively character voices.

Fun and easy to use, the Tag Junior book pal can store up to five books, allowing children to easily move from one book to another and comes with an included book "If I Were".

Tag Junior Skills More Ways to Learn
Each Tag Junior book introduces a different preschool skill—such as the alphabet, counting or social play—through 24 playful activities and more than 130 audio responses. Open-ended questions and fun sound effects encourage children to take charge, as they touch any part of any page to bring words, pictures or activities to life!

Bought this for my son over xmas when they were half price. The handheld device takes two AA batteries which last a long time and comes with a small sampler book which is ok but its nice for them to have the variety of books and activities to try it out on. We found we could hold 6 books including the sampler one on the device. You need to go online to load books onto the unit so best to do this before wrapping up if a pressy. You also get to personalise the device so when it turns on it says your child's name and if you syncronise with your computer regulary you will get progress reports on their learning too. My son whose 3 found the device really easy to use and quickly understood that if you click on a paragraph it will read the story but if you click on other areas of the pages it will tell you other stuff too and link areas of the page eg "now click on something else that is blue". The Dr Seuss book and the ABC one are his favourites. A good stepping stone to get them interested in reading for themselves and his sister who is 1 now loves it too.

I bought this book for my 2 year old neice, as she really loves to sit down and look through books. What Leapfrog have done, is enabled her to go through the book on her own. She quickly picked up how to use the tag and loves all the different noises that animals make. She understands that each picture will have a unique sound and happily sits on her own going through each page. Due to the durability of the board, I have no fear that this isn't going to be destroyed in two minutes by over exicted little hands!

After a lot of investigation on what to buy tag junior vs normal tag, i bought tag normal for my 26 mos old. I thought tag junior is a big waste of money coz it cant save more than 5 books and cant read all the books but i had unfortunately overlooked one thing and that is the motor functioning of a 2 yr old. it was not so easy for him to hold the pen. As he loved to read he struggled with the pen by changing hands, holding up, down ,sliding but it just tired him after minutes. I knew after a week of trying that i had to get the junior, no matter, it lacks a lot of advantage.for me the best thing to get from a toy was to see my child using it to the max. Now after i got this, he is happily playing with it. Wish i hadnt bought the senior tag too early because i fear by the time i can use the pen tag,in 1.5 to 2 yrs time, it will be replaced by new gadgets and go to waste!

    Good, but not enough memory
Not necessarily a bad product, but with only 8MB of memory you can only store 5 to 7 books on it at a time. Read more
