Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

When the Frog family goes shopping at the Hop and Shop store, each family member must choose their favorite items to add to the cart by sorting, classifying and estimating. They count aisles as they shop for crafts, sporting goods, shoes and socks, garden supplies, candy and toys. Tad would like to buy a little bear - will he find it anywhere?

Your child simply places the book on the LeapPad® player, pops in the cartridge, and touchs any page with the Magic Pen to bring learning to life. This book also works with the LeapPad Plus Writing learning system and the Quantum pad Learning System.

"Tad Goes Shopping" teaches numbers and counting, more or less, sorting and classifying sets of objects, shape identification, and color identification.

New Leappad fan 23 Jan 2005

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
I gave this book to my 3 1/2 year old for Christmas this year. She is able to insert the cartridge, follow the simple instructions on how to use the book, play the games and follow the story. I feel it is also helping with her number recognition, through fun play and games.

This also keeps her amused in the mornings with no interaction from her parents!

I have never been a fan of electronic learning toys (as any body who knows me would say) but this one is a big hit with both my daughter and myself.

Good story 14 Aug 2006
By SlayerKat VINE™ VOICE
I'm not a big fan of electronic toys either and avoided buying a Leappad for a long time but after reading several reviews I succombed. This is the second title we have bought and was chosen because it is age up to 5 and my son is 4 and half. I was surprised because the Thomas Tank Engine storybook does not hold his attention for long even though he is a big fan but he has played Tad Goes Shopping from start to finish. My son enjoys playing computer games since we are all computer gamers in this family and enjoys reading books so I thought he would enjoy the interactivity of the Leappad. Unfortunately he's not a big fan and will only play for 15-20 minutes. Nonetheless I think he found this title quite easy and got most of the answers straight away. He seemed to enjoy the praise and encouragement of getting the answers right which was a real pleasure to watch. I think it's just the right age for him now. The titles for older children are just too difficult as he can't read yet but Tad Goes Shopping focuses more on shapes and numbers and bigger/smaller maths skills so you don't really need to be able to read to do the challenges just recognise shapes and be able to count.

This is labled as a 'My First LeapPad' product. Wrong it is a full LeapPad product for children up to 5 years of age.
