Scout connects to the computer so you can customise the music and personalise the learning with your child's name and favourite food, animal and colour. Scout comes with five pre-loaded songs, or you can select and download your choice of learning tunes and lullabies from an online list of 30 songs (internet connection required to personalise Scout with your child's name and favourite items or to change songs).

I bought this for my son and am so impressed with it.
Very easy and quite quick to connect to computer and personalise.
Step by step instructions (if like me your not very computer literate ) which makes it a breeze.He is Lovely and soft with such a cute voice.
One of the things i love about it is..... its got an ENGLISH speaking voice.Having added my sons name, favourite food and colour this cute little puppy says his name several times and in different contexts.....even spells it !!Sings songs with your childs name included, Says he his hungry and asks for whatever you put as your childs favourite food etc
Great value for money,no hesitation in recommending this ingenious toy from Leapfrog...................... Buy buy buy !!!

We got Scout for my son when he was 8 months old and he plays with him a lot (he is now 21 months). Scout talks and sings songs. You can also connect the toy to the Leapfrog website and download your child's name, favourite colour, favourite food and also some more songs (you can change these as often as you like).
It's great that Scout says my son's name as it encourages him to interact with the toy more.
This toy is great to take anywhere, especially on long boring car journeys. The only thing I don't do is leave it in the cot otherwise son stays awake babbling to Scout rather than going to sleep!
The toy also comes with 2 volume levels which is great because most kids toys are just loud.
It's great that Scout says my son's name as it encourages him to interact with the toy more.

I don't have a single criticism of Scout.
My little boy's name is included in its full version and one of the shortened forms; the options for "favourites" are wide and varied; the songs are absolutely lovely; the bedtime music is fantastic and really soothes my little guy; the flashing light in Scout's collar catches my son's attention even if he's in a grump; and Scout is the only toy that can calm him down no matter what. In fact, Scout was the first 'person' to get kisses from my baby, and still gets them more often than Mummy or Daddy!
I love that I can change the songs and the favourites as my son gets older, and seeing that he's started to recognise when it changes is really sweet. When I went away with my baby on my own I took Scout and he settled into the travel cot fine once he was snuggled up with him. I wouldn't be without him.
One of the things that has been mentioned in other reviews is that the child's name wasn't available, but the Leapfrog website has some good suggestions for that. I'm not sure if you can check whether the name is available somewhere on the site, but this link tells you how you can change the spelling of the names that are included and the nicknames you can use if your child's name isn't there: [..]
