We now have a few TAG books on our bookshelf and I'd rate the TAG system in general as one of the better buys I've made for my two little boys. This is the system where the child uses a special "pen" to have the story read to them, either word by word, page by page or indeed have the whole story read in one go. The child can then additionally click on the pictures in the book to generate sounds and there are games that they can participate in too.
This Madagascar book is aimed at slightly younger readers, (it states 4-6 years on the back), than some of the other recent books such as Spiderman and Ben 10. However, I found that some of the jokes in the book were difficult for such little ones to understand, even though they've seen the movie. It also seemed to lack a strong story line - it tells the Madagascar story largely from the Penguins' perspective and there isn't a whole lot of action to be honest. Despite this, the games at the end had the boys absorbed, as they have in the other books, and they enjoyed searching the pictures for the extra sounds.
Out of all the TAG books, this is the one that the boys return to by far the least and I would strongly recommend some of the other TAG stories over this...unless your child happens to be a massive Madagascar fan. However, the TAG system in general...fantastic!! :)
