My Grandaughter already had the stylus and it just needed updating to go with the map. This was done on Boxing day with no fuss or complication and worked with the map instantly.

Disappointing and misleading -previous review said it all. Would not recommend the product - and to the retailer - be more careful when describing your products. But at end of day its our error for be trusting - but if only the description had said tag not included.

LeapFrog LeapReader World Puzzle Map (Works with Tag) (New)

The description of this product is misleading. The LeapReader tag was not included with the map box. If it was not meant to be included, then the descpription should have said that the tag is sold separately. Based on the description as it appears, I was expecting to find the tag in the box. Perhaps you can explain what is correct.

George

Great idea, bad puzzle design 1 Jan 2013
By M. Tucker - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
I really liked the idea of an interactive puzzle to teach my kids about the US. Unfortunately, the puzzle part of this is very poorly designed. The pieces are not thick enough to be completely flat so they all have some slight curl to them. Normally this is okay in small puzzle pieces, but for large pieces, it prevents the puzzle from staying together. This design flaw was a source of frustration for my daughter while she was trying to explore the map. As far as the interactive part of the puzzle, its the high quality leap frog experience that you find in their books. There are multiple games that kids can play, although the file size at 3.1MB takes up a good chunk of space on the Tag reader. We are going to try to flatten the pieces with some heavy books and see if that helps.

Puzzle pieces don't lay flat 2 Jan 2013

I love that this puzzle can teach about the countries of the world but the pieces don't lay flat and moving the pen across the board it tricky as there isn't a smooth surface.
Great Concept - Horrible Execution 9 April 2014
By JM - Published on Amazon.com
Update 4/14:
1) I taped the puzzle together with clear packing tape and the Tag reader still works - score!
2) The non-puzzle version only has one side...

Original 2/14:
The concept is great. A Tag system map for kids to learn about geography.

However, the execution is horrible. The puzzle pieces don't even remotely stay together. On a table. On flat carpet. On the floor. Admittedly, the three year old is a ball of energy and that doesn't help things but even after I get the puzzle together on, say , the table and we are both seated, the minute he touches the puzzle with the pen it starts to come apart.

I have no idea why they thought that this was a good idea. Don't buy it - get the non-puzzle version. I wish we had received that one (but I'm going to try to tape this one together and make it work so as not to waste the generous gift!).

So disappointed 20 Jan 2014
By RBY - Published on Amazon.com
We are loyal LeapFrog fans - my son has the original Tag Reader and many of the books and maps, including the United States board map, which he LOVES and uses constantly. We got the puzzle version of the world map instead because the board map is no longer made. What a letdown. The pieces don't lay flat (and we assembled it on the floor) and they are near-uniformly shaped, so it's no fun to put together. The map is double-sided but a kid would have to completely reassemble the map to flip it over. We used it once and packed it up and I have a very disappointed little boy. Luckily I found the board map online, because it's a GREAT product other than its poor design.
Good but could be better 18 Jan 2014

The map is good. Just not good enough to make a whole map tie. I guess the material is not fit.
