Jay Jay the Jet Plane takes to the sky to help his friend Breezy the Butterfly find a home for the winter. With this story on one side of the flip book and fun learning activities on the other, your child will experience the seasons, weather and other preschool science concepts. Preschoolers just place the flip book on the My First LeapPad© player, pop in the cartridge, and touch any page with the Magic Pen to bring learning to life. ¸ 2002 JJJP and WW. The actual item may vary from the photographs and/or illustrations. Part of the Preschool Discovery series, "Jay Jay's High Flying Adventures" teaches animals, seasons and weather, planets and the solar system, dinosaurs, landforms, and classification. Use the Learning Guide card to the right to find out more about the general categories of learning for the Jay Jay's High Flying Adventures. By clicking a category on the Learning Guide card, you'll see a list of knowledge areas that children develop when they play with this product and the skills on which those knowledge areas are based. This is a cartridge for a MyFirstLeapPad and cannot be used by itself. Touch the special LeapPad books with the included "magic" pen to: hear words and stories read out loud, learn letter sounds, hear colorful characters come alive and play engaging learning games. The LeapPad learning system comes with a 32-page interactive book. Additional expansion book and cartridge sets sold separately. Requires 4 "AA" batteries (not included).

The LeapPad is probably the best interactive children's toy on the market today. The junior edition, known as 'My First LeapPad', offers this unique learning experience to much younger children, allowing parents to teach their kids words and pictures in a fun, yet extremely effective way. Since Jay Jay the Jet Plane is one of our youngest's favourite TV programmes, we decided to buy both LeapPad and Jay Jay's High Flying Adventures -- My First LeapPad Interactive Book; even though she is still a little bit young to use it properly. What a surprise, she absolutely loves it. The authentic voices and songs are great, and even though she has not yet mastered the stylus, she happily switches it on and flicks through the book, pointing at all the colourful words and pictures. I usually sit with her, guiding her hand to the pictures so she can get a real feel for using it herself.
An absolutely fantastic learning toy - I would not hesitate in recommending it to any parent.

My kids 2 & 4 like this leap book. We are not especially JayJay fans, but I was really pleased with the content of this book. It has some really neat stuff to learn about in it...not just the ABC's and 123's. Its content includes many science themes like Animals,Dinosaurs, Planets and Solar system, Landforms, Seasons and weather, as well as simply learning what goes on in the Day and Nightime or what to wear for different weather. The main story focuses on a butterfly named Breezy that is flying south. I was pleased with the different content that it provided, it was a nice change from the typical abc's. You don't have to be a JayJay fan to enjoy this one, but Science is the main theme here so if you are looking for abc's and 123's...you wont find that. I gave it 4 stars for durability simply because its paper, and it can get worn.

My son is 2 years 4 months old. He can't run the entire toy alone yet (as the My First Leap Pad is made for 3-5 year olds) he plays Jay Jay for at least an hour at a time. He loves it with Snuffy and Tracy etc. This book has plenty of games for the kids to play and a lot of places to touch and hear the "planes'" voices.

I am such a major fan of PBS and all the programming they share especially for children. When I saw that LeapPad for preschoolers offere one with Jay Jay from the hit show Jay Jay the Jet Plane I pulled out my credit card. They are few choices in our local stores for these books for the My First LeapPad version of the educational toys. I say if you can get it-grab it! The morals to the stories are one's my son Evan who is only 2 retains from day to day
