I bought these for my one year old and he loves them. They are what you see...you can only pull the shapes apart and put them back together, but my little one loves sitting down with me and taking turns putting them together and taking them apart. When you put them together, each one has a special thing it does. One has a little bell, one has a flashing light and the other has a spinning thing, so my son knows he has put the pieces together properly if the bell chimes, the light flashes or the thingy spins. They are small to hold and perfect for little hands. A good buy in my opinion. They have taken a beating from my toddler, although they are scratched up now, having them only a few months, he plays with them every day. Thumbs up from a first time mom!

Having bought the Brightlings Dancers I thought my 1 year old daughter would enjoy these.

Whilst each one does something different they are very hard for her to manage to pull apart. They do say recommended for children from 6mths onwards but at 1 she finds them hard to play with.

Personally I'd recommend some of the other Brightlings products over these.
