I just bought this for my 1 year old daughter for her birthday. We've only had it a couple of weeks but I'm really pleased with it so far. It was a bit of a gamble as I couldn;t really get an idea of what exactly it was from the descriptions but I had nothing else in mind so decided to give it a go. Me and my husband played with it for about half an hour before wrapping it up as it's quite addictive. It basically just has loads of things to fiddle with - which of course all small children love to do. The brightlings are 3 balls with faces on and when these are dropped down the hole in the top to come out the bottom and you are rewarded with a sound. The toy has 2 age modes - baby and toddler that are changed by twisting the top - it also has music and learning modes changed by moving a star on the side up and down, so 4 diff modes in total. It has a little gate that opens and closes and in baby mode either makes music or says hello, goodbye etc. In toddler mode this says hello and goodbye in about 5 diff languages. It has 3 little characters on the bottom that sing in phonics - "ba ba ba, pa pa pa, wa wa wa etc".
The music is v pleasing and not annoying to my ear and it has 2 sound levels. It has 3 diff coloured pull ribbons on the side that says the colours and various diff things in the diff modes and one rainbow coloured one that spins a platform above. You can put the balls on here and they spin.
Only thing that really annoys me about it atm is keeping track of the balls. There is a platform for one of them to sit and the other 2 can be stored on top but I wish they would clip in somewhere so I could put it away without worrying.
All in all tho we are v happy and both my daughter and her 3 yearold brother have a good play with it throughout the day.

This was bought for my daughter when she was 9 months old. It has been a great toy. There are so many different things on it for her to explore and play with. Lots of cause and effect learning. My daughter usually plays with this on the dining room table. It has been dropped on many occasions on to a hard tile floor but has survived heroically!!

Having read the previous review I decided to buy this for my 1 year old daughter.

It's the best toy I have bought her. There are so many different functions, as described in detail on previous review, that she never gets bored. Even when not playing with the station itself she likes playing with the brightling 'balls' on their own.

The small brightlings built into the station are superb as they sing phonics when you press each one and it's great that you have a 'baby' mode and a 'toddler' mode.

My daughter is quite rough with the toy and constantly pulls and pushes the flowers and tugs vigorously on the rainbow ribbon to watch the coloured platform spin around. So it's very durable!

I'd highly recommend this toy it was a real find.
