5.0 out of 5 stars in admiration 5 Dec 2009
Format:Paperback
I was taken by this book! First, when I read in newspaper articles about the collection of women writers.. their lives, backgrounds and aspirations. Second, when I read it! and aren't short stores far harder to write than novels? (check our Bernard Shaw on the art of brevity!). This book does it for me. It gets my vote!

Great read! "By women; for women, about women" I was told, well maybe, but much enjoyed by this man!

Compelling stories; wide range of locations and topics keeping it moving at pace. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, entertaining, moving 16 Feb 2010
Format:Paperback
I loved this book. The stories were very original, engaging, and really took you to the countries and cities where they are set. The women's emotional journeys are convincing and gripping. And sometimes funny (in a good way).
A really good read, and the stories, and characters, linger in your mind for a long time afterwards. I'd definitely recommend it.
