Following a fifteen year career as a clinical psychiatrist and academic, Dr. Herrero moved into the corporate sector taking up senior management positions in several multinational companies both in Europe and the US. Taking advantage of his behavioural sciences background, coupled with his hands-on business management experience, he co-founded The Chalfont Project Ltd, an international consulting firm specialising in organizational strategy; structural, cultural and behavioural change management; leadership and innovation. He is also Managing Partner of Viral Change™ Global L.L.P.
An author of international acclaim, Dr. Herrero began writing during his time as a clinician and for many years was a monthly columnist for the global healthcare periodical, Scrip Magazine. His first book The Trouble with Management was published in 2002. Since then he has published a series of management books which focus on bringing behavioural and social sciences to day-to-day manage-ment and leadership. The first The Leader with Seven Faces: Finding your own ways to practice leadership in today's organization was published in 2006 and is the cornerstone of The Chalfont Project's Executive Leadership Development Programme. In 2007 it was complemented by New leaders wanted - Now Hiring! The 12 kinds of people you must find, seduce, hire and find a job for. Viral Change™: the alternative to slow, painful and unsuccessful management of change in organizations was first published in 2006, with a second edition in 2008, and was shortly followed by Disruptive ideas. 10+10+10=1000; the maths of viral change that transform organisations. His most recent book Homo Imitans, the art of social infection - Viral Change™ in action was published in 2011.
His pioneering approach to change management led to the creation and development of Viral Change™, a way of creating fast, sustainable, large-scale, behavioural and cultural change in organizations and society. These changes are shaped by the power of individuals and small groups who influence the behaviours of others on a peer-to-peer basis through their own internal and informal social networks. This approach has been adopted by organisations globally and, as Managing Partner of Viral Change™ Global LLP, Dr. Herrero leads the international network of Viral Change™ companies and oversees Viral Change™ consulting projects around the world.
A renowned public speaker, Dr. Herrero is frequently invited to address audiences internationally and through The Chalfont Project Ltd he runs a programme of speaking engagements for both corporate clients and external audiences.
