The programme is designed for people of all ages and all levels of fitness, beginners and more experienced practioners. Filmed on location in Ibiza, Leah takes you through a practice that is easy to follow yet challenging. The programme covers a warm-up, sitting and standing postures, breath control and relaxation and is divided into five sections: 1) Awakening, 2) Taking Control, 3) Inner Strength, 4) Finding Balance and 5) Tranquility. Yoga And You balances a physical workout whilst encompassing a positive frame of mind. Leah Bracknell has been practicing Hatha Yoga for almost four years and is studying for the teacher training diploma at the British School of Yoga. This programme has been devised by Leah and British Wheel of Yoga qualified teacher Janet Kaye.
"As the mother of two children, I know how difficult it is to juggle the demands of career and family. It is hard to find time to spend on yourself. Yoga has enriched my life. I feel in better shape than ever. Yoga helps me conquer stressful moments. Yoga And You provides a welcome escape from the routine of everyday life. I would like to share this with you." Leah Bracknell.
I would recommend this for beginners to intermediates.
I was looking for a straightforward Yoga DVD that would be suitable for a complete novice and I have found it. Divided into 5 easy to manage chunks, the session can be made as long or as short as you want.
There are no gimmicks, just pleasant, understated music and scenery and Leah provides a relaxing, softly spoken commentary throughout the exercises. At all times you are told how to breath and exactly what the various parts of your body should be doing and feeling. This was particularly helpful as I am new to Yoga but I think it is suffiently unobtrusive not to become
annoying as I progress.
You are encouraged to embrace a positive frame of mind to enhance the effects of your Yoga but at no time does the spiritual angle get "heavy".
