About the Author

Jon Poole has been a development specialist for more than 20 years, running his own development practice for the past 10 years.

During this time Jon has developed a coaching model in conjunction with top sporting names (for example past England cricket captain Graham Gooch), taking trusted coaching methodologies from the world of sport and applying them within a sound business context. This model has been the basis of highly popular and successful workshops he has run for managers at all levels.

He also has first hand experience of having personally coached many senior managers over the past 20 years in the commercial, public and not-for-profit sectors. His pragmatic approach to leadership has helped bring on many top leaders through coaching as well as through his highly practical leadership development programmes.

Format: Paperback
Content covers the role of a leader and explains the defferences between that and the role of a manager. Leadership is very well explained with the means of means of achiving the desired qualities needed. Practical aspects are dealt with in chapters :eadersjo[ om {ractoce amd Decosopm-making. Self-development is a key basis of this book. Fundamental aspects of leadership such as developing others, coaching and mentoring are explained in good detail. Clear and concisely written, the text is well structured with a summary at the end of each chapter. There are also some exercises and a good index. Page numbers are tabbed in different colours for each chapter. Do not be put off by the rather brilliantly coloured illustration, some of which seem unnecessary, others helpful.
This book is valuable for anyone in a leadership role at any level in any type of organization whether they are just starting or experienced.
