What I really appreciate about Trond Undheim's "Leadership from Below" is that it doesn't simply follow tired, dysfunctional and broken old ideologies - ideologies that have led humanity, including business, into the current mess that we are in.

If business and political leaders could embrace the ideas, models and case studies laid out in this book rather than slavishly obeying ideologies, the process of economic, cultural and spiritual healing would be greatly accelerated.

In a world of despair, glimmers of hope like the recent overwhelming result for Obama and paradigm-changing books like this one suggest that broad and lasting positive change is possible.

In short, if you're serious about your current leadership role or aspire to that in the future, then you need to add this title to your bookshelf. It's that simple.

I've just finished reading Leadership From Below and must say it truly encompasses the essence of the topic from myself falling in the category of the knowledge worker through age and having worked in several countries. It gives insight to leadership from below making the very good point that
flexibility and not working from a book is important as over time change is inevitable. The book deserves a wide readership as it provides valuable insight to understanding the complex negotiation between knowledge, people skills, interaction, etc which can either contribute to or create obstacles in the smooth working of a company.
