The King of Soukous 8 Oct 2006

If you're a bad dancer, it's probably best to listen to this album on your own because the chances are that you'll find it impossible not to go bopping across your living room. This is among the best offerings from the king of Soukous and it's a lively & joyous album that's bound to leave you with an enormous sense of well-being. Papa Wemba is very popular in Africa, especially in his home country, Congo, and has been one of the leading lights in bringing the music of that continent to the World Music scene in the West.

Format:Audio CD

This CD was my introduction to Papa Wemba years ago. I purchased it while in Tokyo where there was quite a following for this magnificent singer. This CD is still powerful, flavorful, just plain ol' tasty...some of the best mixing I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The musicianship is outstanding, world class. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. "D"
