First person French account of WWI battlefields and events. Very lowview perspective of events, from that of a soldier in the muck and horror. This book is intense and real, but if your French is a little shaky then be prepared for a lot of vocab you don't know and to look up lots of words for a slow read. I read this one page at a time to manage the harder French and to take in the raw intensities of what the author relays.
