Product Description

Colour: Almond

Product Description

From the Le Creuset Accessories range comes this stylish enamelled steel stove top whistling kettle which is suitable for use on all heat sources including ceramic and induction hobs. The heavyweight metal conducts heat evenly across the bottom and up the sides of the kettle, quickly heating the water.

Le Creuset kettles are available in two innovative designs and a range of colours offering a charming touch to any stove top.

Le Creuset

Traditionally known for cast iron, Le Creuset have taken their knowledge and expertise to develop a range of kettles with the same quality in mind, thus providing a strong and durable product that performs well and looks great.

Adaptability

Ceramic, halogen or induction hobs, gas, electric, solid fuel or Aga/Rayburn Le Creuset kettles will work excellently on all. Le Creuset cookware is available in a wide range of styles and colours that will suit both your kitchen and dining table.

Care and Use

Before first use: remove all labels and protective packaging. Wash kettle in hot water, then fill with clean water and bring to the boil and discard this water.

As with all metal surfaces in contact with high temperatures, please take caution when handling Le Creuset Kettles heated on the stove. Le Creuset proudly uses high heat resistant plastic on our handles and whistles; however, we encourage you to use a Le Creuset oven mitt to open the whistle before pouring.

How to use

Never heat up an empty kettle or fill beyond level marked on the outside of the kettle.

Match kettle base to size of ring/burner.

Do not tip kettle upside down when pouring as water may spill from the lid.

Do not leave kettle simmering for long periods on any heat source - it may boil dry which will damage the base enamel.

We recommend using an oven glove or cloth when opening the whistle as it may be hot.

Avoid leaving water in kettle when not in use, as a build up of scale may occur and reduce efficiency.

Do not bang the kettle down onto any hob or work surface. Repeated knocks may damage the enamel.

A gentle de-scaler may be used periodically, if required.

Use on Aga/Rayburn Stoves:

Do not heat kettle on simmering plate - always use fast plate.

If plate has been open, close the plate to allow the plate to recover heat before heating the kettle.

About Le Creuset

A lifetime spent crafting the finest cookware. Le Creuset has been making superb, award winning cookware since 1925 and the secret recipe of ingredients remains the same today. Each piece is made from a unique mould into which molten iron is poured from a large cauldron (called a creuset). This creates a unique piece, each with it’s own identity and style. The piece is then hand finished and subjected to strict quality checks. Finally the cast iron is enamelled at extremely high temperatures to create the vibrant lustre and hard finish which looks great in the home.

We bought this kettle over 5 years ago after a succession of electric kettles, all of which leaked within a year of light use. This kettle is well worth the money. It has a large capacity which is great if you are entertaining and while it is perhaps not the fastest of boils, as long as you dont over fill it, it is perfect for everyday use. Not over filling it is the key to using this kettle though and definitely a skill to master. I however use the time to tidy up the kitchen and race myself to see how much I can do in the time it takes to boil.
It frees up counter space and looks fantastic and is very hard wearing. Well worth the money.

This product is less than 6 months in use and black bits of enamel are starting to appear in drinks (tea, coffee) etc, the product care points have been followed, very disappointed - would not have another.

Great quality product, good value for money. Costs more than it's competitors, but better than any alternative product on the market.

After very little use the iside of this kettle developed rust spots where the internal enamel broken down. Having checked on other review sites this is a problem with this kettle.

We had to return the first version as the whistle dropped off when we unpacked it. Le Creuset quality? I think not.

I notise that the only other review when I wrote this is a product description and not a review - wonder who wrote it...

E-mailed Le Creuset - no reply.

Bought this kettle as we thought it would last for years to come. Within a couple of months the handle snapped in two, this was duly replaced by Le Creuset, the whistle fell out of the new one after a couple of months and in just over a year rust bubbles started forming on the inside, the rust got so bad that we eventually had to throw it in the bin this week. Stainless steel next time!

It boils water and it whistles ! The build quality is excellent but what a terrible colour ! Hell it's a kettle, so does that matter ? It was a special deal on this colour alone, so battleship grey it is (they call it granite now, more refined !). We bought it for use on an induction hob and it is excellent, slightly slower than our new 3 kw, electric kettle but using much less electricity and capable of boiling much more should it be needed. I guess it comes down to personal preference, for me a kettle whistling on the hob to tell everyone that tea's up is the stuff of life. To my wife, switching off automatically, slowly cooling and stewing because you forgot about it, is better ! So there you have it a cheerful whistle or a dull, almost inaudible, click. Oh, one other point, this is our 3rd expensive electric kettle in 5 years, I anticipate that this traditional kettle will significantly out perform that and it won't suddenly stop working !

Not at all impressed - the whistle didn't work on our first one so we replaced it to find that, not only did it rust inside but the coating on the handle bubbled up. I think Le Creuset may be living on name rather than quality. Don't bother.
