I bought this a couple of years ago from John Lewis because our electricity supply is not reliable. It did the job, but has a number of disadvantages:
1. It's VERY heavy.
2. Our gas bill noticably increased after we bought it.
3. More seriously, it rusted inside despite all our precautions.
We have had to take it back to the shop 3 times in 2 years for a replacement. With our last, we were actually emptying and drying it after every use. It STILL rusted. On the last occasion, we swapped it for a different kettle.

We wanted an eye catching kettle to go with our new kitchen although we mainly use an electric kettle for everyday use. We bought this in red. We had vouchers for a local store and bought this kettle. The spout mechanism fell apart as we were unpacking it. Took it back to the shop, for an immediate replacement. This kettle has been used rarely but is showing the rust problem mentioned by another reviewer. Haven't tried yet to get it replaced but doesn't seem to be much point. Will just leave it empty as an ornament. If you want a kettle to boil water suggest you look for another supplier.

The unique locking, stay-cool handle is comfortable and this kettle also has the added feature of a large lid....aiding easy filling, lifting and pouring.
Easy to clean.
Suitable for all hobs, including ceramic and AGA, which makes a pleasant change!
