Product Description

Product Description

From the Le Creuset Accessories range comes this stylish enamelled steel stove top whistling kettle which is suitable for use on all heat sources including ceramic and induction hobs. The heavyweight metal conducts heat evenly across the bottom and up the sides of the kettle, quickly heating the water.

Le Creuset kettles are available in two innovative designs and a range of colours offering a charming touch to any stove top.

Le Creuset

Traditionally known for cast iron, Le Creuset have taken their knowledge and expertise to develop a range of kettles with the same quality in mind, thus providing a strong and durable product that performs well and looks great.

Adaptability

Ceramic, halogen or induction hobs, gas, electric, solid fuel or Aga/Rayburn Le Creuset kettles will work excellently on all. Le Creuset cookware is available in a wide range of styles and colours that will suit both your kitchen and dining table.

Care and Use

Before first use: remove all labels and protective packaging. Wash kettle in hot water, then fill with clean water and bring to the boil and discard this water.

As with all metal surfaces in contact with high temperatures, please take caution when handling Le Creuset Kettles heated on the stove. Le Creuset proudly uses high heat resistant plastic on our handles and whistles; however, we encourage you to use a Le Creuset oven mitt to open the whistle before pouring.

How to use

Never heat up an empty kettle or fill beyond level marked on the outside of the kettle.

Match kettle base to size of ring/burner.

Do not tip kettle upside down when pouring as water may spill from the lid.

Do not leave kettle simmering for long periods on any heat source - it may boil dry which will damage the base enamel.

We recommend using an oven glove or cloth when opening the whistle as it may be hot.

Avoid leaving water in kettle when not in use, as a build up of scale may occur and reduce efficiency.

Do not bang the kettle down onto any hob or work surface. Repeated knocks may damage the enamel.

A gentle de-scaler may be used periodically, if required.

Use on Aga/Rayburn Stoves:

Do not heat kettle on simmering plate - always use fast plate.

If plate has been open, close the plate to allow the plate to recover heat before heating the kettle.

About Le Creuset

A lifetime spent crafting the finest cookware. Le Creuset has been making superb, award winning cookware since 1925 and the secret recipe of ingredients remains the same today. Each piece is made from a unique mould into which molten iron is poured from a large cauldron (called a creuset). This creates a unique piece, each with it’s own identity and style. The piece is then hand finished and subjected to strict quality checks. Finally the cast iron is enamelled at extremely high temperatures to create the vibrant lustre and hard finish which looks great in the home.

1.0 out of 5 stars It Rusts 17 Jan 2009
Colour Name:Almond|Size Name:2.1L.
After very little use the iside of this kettle developed rust spots where the internal enamel broken down. Having checked on other review sites this is a problem with this kettle.

We had to return the first version as the whistle dropped off when we unpacked it. Le Creuset quality? I think not.

I notise that the only other review when I wrote this is a product description and not a review - wonder who wrote it...

E-mailed Le Creuset - no reply.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not my cup of tea 10 Mar 2009

Colour Name:Almond|Size Name:2.1L.
Not at all impressed - the whistle didn't work on our first one so we replaced it to find that, not only did it rust inside but the coating on the handle bubbled up. I think Le Creuset may be living on name rather than quality. Don't bother.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice kettle with some problems 17 May 2009
Colour Name:Almond|Size Name:2.1L.
I bought this kettle as well and realised one day that it was full of rust and the whistle was very difficult to hear, but I didn't know that I could have a refund. In the end I made a flowerpot of it, what else can you do with a nice looking kettle full of rust?

4.0 out of 5 stars Classy
Well made, solid item. Takes a long time to boil, but then it holds a lot of water. The whistle could be louder, but it's very neat, and won't get lost.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor
Overpriced, poor quality and broken spout on arrival. Not what expected from a reputable manufacturer. Would imagine difficult to clean after use on a gas hob.

Lovely styling and looks great on my range. It is a little heavy when filled but boils relatively quickly on my gas hob.
