Stoneware Care and Use:
Do not use any piece on cooker hobs or any other direct heat source. When in the oven a maximum oven temperature of 260 degrees Celsius or 500 degrees Fahrenheit. We recommend using Le Creuset oven mitts for lifting hot dishes at all times. When using under a grill allow a gap between the rim of the dish and the heat source of no less than 6 ½ cm / 2 ½ inches. When using in a microwave handles may become hot during prolonged microwave use and especially if the handles are enclosed with cling film. Cover just the open top of the dish leaving the handles exposed. When using from the freezer to oven do not place a frozen dish of food in a pre-heated oven. Place the frozen dish in a cold oven and set the temperature, allowing the dish and oven to heat together. Before serving always check that the centre of the food is completely and uniformly hot.
Cleaning:
Before use wash the dish in hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. For most day-to-day cleaning, cool the dish for a few minutes then wash and dry as above, or wash in the dishwasher, allowing the full cycle to complete. Never leave a dish fully immersed in water. For removal of stubborn residues allow the dish to cool, fill with warm soapy water and allow it to soak for 10 – 20 minutes. Wash in the usual way using, if necessary, a plastic brush or scouring pad.

Makes a wonderful engagement, wedding or anniversary present, especially if stuck for something to get for a RUBY celebration!
COLOUR : CERISE - graded shades of red, generally darker at bottom and edges, with cream interior.
It is a deep-heart, lidded casserole dish in STONEWARE, which arrives in a sturdy box, measuring around 30 cm x 16 cm x 28.5 cm.
All measurements approximate based on my own dish:-
* The external base measures 19.5 cm widest and 17.5 cm longest, gently flaring out to 29.5 cm widest across the heart and 28 cm at the longest
* Beautifully deep without the lid on around 8.5 cm
* The 2 cm wide rim makes lifting easy, and a large, chunky knob adds another 2 cm to the overall height
* Capacity : 2.4L / 2.5Q

Quite a heavyweight, even when empty and does need a fair bit of storage space, really, but I tend to put mine back in its box for safe keeping in the cupboard, waiting for that next romantic occasion to present!
Although, being of such a great size, any excuse will do! Brightening any day, the simplest oven-baked recipe is transformed when presented in this!
I have used mine for all sorts:- pasta dishes, casseroles and baked desserts, including a chocolate 'surprise' sponge cake.
Even simply serving a mixed fruit salad into individual heart-shaped ramekins, from this dish, is guaranteed to liven up the dullest of dinner parties!
As with all my dishes, I tend to fill it with hot, soapy water and allow it to stand for around 15 minutes then give it a rub over with a plastic brush. All the baked-on remains of that rich Guinness casserole simply vanish!
Dishwasher safe, space permitting, and comes out looking like new every time, with no noticeable fading to the colour over time.

The box incorporates the regular multi-lingual STONEWARE use and care instructions, including:-

I bought this as an engagement gift for friends and they were absolutely delighted with it. This has now become my standard engagement gift and having told friends about it they are buying it as a gift too. I'm just about to order another one as buying them from Amazon is definately the best value.
