The 18/10 stainless steel steaming basket is for use in conjunction with the corresponding size of Le Creuset cast iron casserole. Available in 3 sizes - 20 cm, 22 cm and 24 cm sizes, it sits securely over the casserole pot and is extremely easy to use.
Steaming can be used for a variety of foods and recipes and is particularly good for vegetables, fish, poultry and even desserts.
Cleaning
Wash the basket in hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. Use only nylon scourers or washing-up brushes to remove stubborn food residues.
The steaming basket comes with 2 fantastic recipes: - Oriental chicken and vegetable parcels - Steamed herb and lemon salmon with vegetables and watercress sauce.
The steaming basket is completely dishwasher safe.

Sturdy steaming basket, specifically designed to fit neatly over the 22 cm size Le Creuset ROUND CAST IRON casserole dish, but it can also be used on any cooking pan with the same rim diameter.
Good-sized holes which allow the steam through with no food loss.
My favourite recipe using this size is Gordon Ramsay's 'Aromatic Steamed Cod Fillets' pages 36/37, in Secrets.

I bought this with one purpose in mind: I wanted to be able to simmer a spicy lamb or vegetable stew in my 22cm cocotte, and to steam the couscous above it at the same time. This is perfect for that - and whatever you might expect, the couscous doesn't fall through the holes.
It's very slightly too shallow to take a pudding for steaming - although you could probably manage even that if you could find an extension ring or a domed lid to fit it.
