Product Description

From the Le Creuset Accessories range comes this stylish enamelled steel stove top whistling kettle which is suitable for use on all heat sources including ceramic and induction hobs. The heavyweight metal conducts heat evenly across the bottom and up the sides of the kettle, quickly heating the water.

Le Creuset kettles are available in two innovative designs and a range of colours offering a charming touch to any stove top. Our unique, locking handles and phenolic knobs make lifting, pouring and cleaning easy.

Le Creuset

Traditionally known for cast iron, Le Creuset have taken their knowledge and expertise to develop a range of kettles with the same quality in mind, thus providing a strong and durable product that performs well and looks great.

Adaptability

Ceramic, halogen or induction hobs, gas, electric, solid fuel or Aga/Rayburn Le Creuset kettles will work excellently on all. Le Creuset cookware is available in a wide range of styles and colours that will suit both your kitchen and dining table.

Care and Use

Before first use: remove labels and plastic spout protector before use.

Before use ensure kettle handle is locked into the upright position. Once in position, do not try to unlock.

Before first use, wash kettle in hot water then fill with clean water and bring to the boil and discard this water.

As with all metal surfaces in contact with high temperatures, please take caution when handling Le Creuset Kettles heated on the stove. Le Creuset uses stay-cool phenolic handles and lid knobs; however, we encourage you to use a Le Creuset oven mitt to remove whistle before pouring.

How to use

Never heat up an empty kettle.

Never fill beyond level marked on the outside of the kettle.

Match kettle base to size of ring/burner.

Do not tip kettle upside down when pouring as water may spill from the lid.

Do not leave kettle simmering for long periods on any heat source - it may boil dry which will damage the base and enamel.

Remove whistle carefully with a cloth before pouring - Caution, whistle may be hot.

Avoid leaving water in kettle when not in use, a build up of scale may occur and reduce efficiency.

Do not bang the kettle down onto any hob or work surface. Repeated knocks may damage the enamel.

A gentle kettle de-scaler may be used periodically, if required.

Use on Aga/Rayburn Stoves:

Do not heat kettle on simmering plate - always use fast plate.

If plate has been open, close to allow plate to recover heat before heating the kettle.

About Le Creuset

A lifetime spent crafting the finest cookware. Le Creuset has been making superb, award winning cookware since 1925 and the secret recipe of ingredients remains the same today. Each piece is made from a unique mould into which molten iron is poured from a large cauldron (called a creuset). This creates a unique piece, each with it’s own identity and style. The piece is then hand finished and subjected to strict quality checks. Finally the cast iron is enamelled at extremely high temperatures to create the vibrant lustre and hard finish which looks great in the home.

I brought this kettle, even after reading alot of bad reviews, however being a loyal creuset customer, I decided to buy the kettle, and try it for myself.
If you are looking for a smart 'on the Hob' kettle, then this is ideal, however it seems people are too much comparing it too an electric kettle.

The kettle can be very easily cleaned, so its good to be able to keep the limescale away, without the hassle of cleaning an electric kettle. Yes it can spit a little when boiling, but I havnt come across a hob kettle that doesn't, but this aside, with mine it has not been akward to pick the kettle up once it has boiled.
The outer shelf off the kettle is easy to keep shiney, and there does not seem to be any problem with rust. The kettle looks smart, and does eactly what you want from a hob kettle.

In terms of boiling, dependant how many drinks you are making, if you fill it to the correct amount of water, it doesnt take long to boil at all, and boils quickly when placed back onto the hob if you fancy another cuppa.

Overall im very happy with my Kone Kettle.

Sheer elegance on the stove and frees up precious counter space taken up by a traditional kettle!

COLOUR - CERISE RED

I have two of these, which I alternate. Both were acquired in 2004 and I have not experienced any of the problems that other reviewers have commented on. I do tend to use them for smaller amounts of water...... for beverages rather than boiling larger amounts for cooking....and, mine whistle away, although not particularly piercingly, which suits me!

Stylish looking and suitable for all heat sources, including ceramic and induction, the base conducts heat evenly across the wide bottom and up the sides of the kettle, quickly heating the water.
Tight-fitting lid and folding/locking handle aids safety.

Sturdily boxed with full instructions supplied, this would make an ideal gift.

Having bought this kettle from Amazon, I have found it to be exactly as described. This is a very modest sized kettle but I can make 3 mugs of tea/coffee in one go so no problems there. The whistle is fine some reviewers have claimed it is a bit weak, mine seems satisfactory, it isn't overly powerful but it does its job. Again some reviewers have mentioned that he kettle "boils over" and they have seen water coming out of the lid, I have filled my kettle to the recommended level and have had no problems with "overflow", I should imagine that if you overfill the kettle in the first place maybe that would happen. Once boiled I can remove the whistle with my fingers and haven't got scalded and I don't have asbestos fingers!

The great thing about the kettle is the fact that the interior is enamelled, which means that it will last for ages, I have a ceramic hob and I have had no problems with it. The kettle looks equally at home in a very modern kitchen as well as a more traditional one. All in all a very good piece of kitchen equipment - buy one you won't be disappointed. I am very pleased with mine and I just love the colour; a fab deep blue.

Like the appearance/style, good colour choices.
Had become fed up with the expense of replacing faulty/leaky electric kettles every year or so. Now using this kettle on the hob will also free up limited kitchen work surface.
However, just some words of warning - firstly, the instructions say not to overfill the kettle above a set of three holes you can see inside the kettle, but as the inside is black it's really difficult to detect this in low-level lighting. Secondly, the whistle worked brilliantly to begin with but after about a week it stopped working. Le Creuset say will send a replacement whistle free of charge.
Unlike some of the other reviews on the Volcanic Kone kettle, we find the kettle does the job - no problems with pouring and handling; it works fine with smaller amounts of water; length of time to boil is fine, bit longer than a plug-in kettle, but acceptable.

I bought the kettle for the gorgeous design and the great reputation of the Le Creuset brand. I read the reviews after I'd bought it and started to worry. There was no need. It works brilliantly.

I've had no problems with the whistle (though I find it sounds slightly louder when rotated according to the picture on the box) and it looks amazing. Of course it takes slightly longer than an electric kettle, but you expect that when you buy one that sits on the hob. Be realistic.

I'm over the moon with my new kettle, it's brilliant and works exactly as I expected it to. If you're tempted, buy one.

I bought this kettle about six months ago and just love it! Not only does it look beautiful in my kitchen (much prettier than an electric kettle) but it's a useful piece of kit too and an essential standby in the event of a power cut!
This kettle is only meant to boil two cups of water at a time (only fill it to the white fill line on the outside of the kettle)but these are pretty big cups and will easily fill two capacious mugs. The helpful people at our local Le Creuset stockists said to make sure that you only boil the kettle over a low to medium heat, a higher flame may damage the exterior enamel. Even so this kettle boils very quickly and whistles happily to let you know when it's ready.
As with all Le Creuset products it's very well made and if you look after it, this kettle will look fab and last you a lifetime. A great buy and highly recommended!!
