Product Description

Probably the best corkscrew in the world! The LM250 Lever Corkscrew by Le Creuset was designed by Texan, Herbert Allen who made his mark inventing tools for the oil industry. In the 1970's he watched his wife struggling to open a bottle wine. After trying a number of corkscrews, all unsuccessfully, she gave up and presented her husband with the engineering challenge - to produce a corkscrew that would extract the cork effortlessly and perfectly every time. The lever model was born and prided itself on being a corkscrew that removed corks without force, injury or embarrassment!

The LM250 lever corkscrew works equally well with both natural and synthetic corks and comes with a matching foil cutter. To remove a cork, simply remove the foil or capsule with the foil cutter and then raise the lever to open position, clasp the neck of the bottle with grips, gently bring the lever forward to pierce the cork, then raise arm to remove. We suggest that you replace the screws after approximately 2000 uses. Clean with a damp cloth or warm soapy water.
  • Opens bottles effortlessly
  • Works equally well on both synthetic and natural corks with ease
  • Holds the bottle securely
  • Comes with a foil cutter
  • Hand sharpened stainless steel screw with 3 coats of extra strong non-stick coating
  • 5 year Manufacturer guarantee

I treated myself to one of these some time ago.

It works a treat but does not have the solid feel that I expected from Le Creuset.

I also find the cork does not release well.

I have a cheap copy that this was to replace, which is still my preferred opener for the reasons given above.

Come on le Creuset, we need to buying more than just your name at this price.

We've had the original Le Creuset wine bottle opener for many years until it finally died....so, I felt secure in ordering a new one based on my former experience....not good at all. The new one just feels cheap and does not work nearly as well. If I had it to do over, I'd look elsewhere and DO NOT RECOMMEND this item.

I bought one of these over 10 years ago in France. Paid ~100 pounds for it. We don't drink a lot of wine and so it has had light use. Sadly the ( Aluminium ?) body has now broken in two. I've contacted Le Crueset who apparently now own Screwpull - no reply.

Really expected this to last a life-time for that sort of cash, and certainly expected a response to my email.

UPDATE ** received email response today, offering free-post return service for them to inspect the item .... will update post inspection
UPDATE #2 - Le Creuset have agreed that my old (LM100) was faulty - they are replacing with a current LM250 - that's pretty good customer service ...

i have had one of these for some years and still going strong. I have subsequently bought another three as presents for others. A great tool with no flaws.
