Wide base and straight sides allow for quick, light frying in relatively little fat. The high sides prevent spattering or spilling. Add the lid to allow food to cook more slowly.
The Le Creuset 3-ply Stainless Steel range is made using the latest multi-layering technology where stainless steel and aluminium are bonded together to form the special 3-ply material. A core of aluminium is sandwiched between two layers of premium grade stainless steel cleverly combining the cooking benefits of both materials. The aluminium stretches from base to rim, meaning heat spreads evenly and gently throughout the entire pan – not just the base.
Professional-style cast handles are attached with stainless steel rivets for a superior, secure fixing and the addition of helper handles makes lifting easier.
A close fitting lid retains moisture and heat for efficient and nutritious cooking, other thoughtful touches include an all round pouring rim.
Suitable for use on all hob types including induction, oven and grill safe.

I have now purchased three of these pans through Amazon - the frying pan (no lid), the chef's pan (with lid) and the sauté pan (with lid).
I love cooking and have many years of experience with all kinds of pots and pans. None has given me so much pleasure and control as these. The non-stick surface is second-to-none and the pans can be transferred from stove-top to oven with no problem (check suggested maximum temperature though). The pans are reassuringly heavy and have a special construction which transfers heat all around the food you are cooking.
In theory you can use suitable metal cooking tools but I would advise using wood and plastic all the same. All these pans can be washed in a dishwasher but take the trouble to re-season with a teaspoon of vegetable oil each time you do this. If you have simply been frying: a wipe around with kitchen paper will probably be enough until next use.
Because of the efficiency of the three-layer construction you will probably need less heat than before, so take care.

Really good quality pan, the sides heat up very well and the handle stays cool enough to lift by hand for decent amount of time. I found this pan to be far more non-stick than my cheap stainless steel pans but I dont know if this is due to better heat distribution or just the fact that its a spotless clean new pan!!

Made a chef happy
Bought as a Christmas present for my daughter's partner, who does an awful lot of cooking. He uses it all the time now and likes that he can put the whole thing in the oven.

Bottom uneven at first heat up
