I just bought this book as a guide to finding out some new and nice desserts for the family but got so much more than expected! The recipes are extremely varied and innovative and the presentation of these desserts is simply amazing! But then you would expect nothing less from Le Cordon Bleu! The contents are as follows:

1. Fruit Desserts
2. Iced Desserts
3. Custards, Creams and Whips
4. Souffles, Mousses and Meringues
5. Soft Cheese Desserts
6. Batters and Omelettes
7. Basic Techniques
8. Cakes and Gateux
9. Pastries

I have to say my favourite section was the choux pastry and buns - there is so much you can do with this mix and the pictures just compel you to try some of these ideas. All the recipes are laid out in a well structured manner with clear directions which show you the full recipe from the start. After using this book I feel that if I was to try another cooking book then i would definitely head to the Le Cordon Bleu collection first! Thoroughly recommended!

I am so soooo happy I found this book!not only its full of wonderful mouthwatering recipies but it also shows very detailed instructions (photos)of how to decorate cakes and desserts.Some techniques are used in advanced cake decorating!!No wondering , no guessing..every step is clearly explained.
Among the recipies are baked souffles, cheesecakes, gateaux,custards, creams, rise desserts, filo pastry and plenty of other delights.
Excellent book for advanced cooks but perfect as well for someone just starting to bake. I wholeheardly recommend this book : )

This is the best recipe book, it`s very useful and all the basic recipe can be found in the middle of the book!And of course the pictures are beautiful!

The book is such a text book about home made desserts. but some points need to be explain with details. for ex. how to prepare powder gelatine? I made cheescake but gelatine phase was terrible. the cake didn't stiff. I recommend this book who can't go France anyway but miss there
