Episodes 9-12 of Kazuhiro Furuhashi's modern anime classic set in France in the time of Louis XV. D'Eon follows Maximilien Robespierre and the Royal Psalms to England, where they seek out the help of the Compte De Guercy, a former member of the Le Secret du Roi, now French Ambassador.
This third volume of the `Le Chevalier D'Eon' anime contains a further four episodes of this intriguing season. All four of the episodes here take place in Russia and sees the main characters get caught up with the power struggles of that nation while they investigate the death of D'Eon's sister.
The episodes in this volume are all very nice with some good animation. The `historical' intrigue is interesting and the few fight scenes are entertaining and well done. The volume also sees the plot advance and the series is defiantly headed in an interesting direction. While I probably wouldn't class this series as one of my favourite it is still entertaining enough to continue watching.
