5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding photography 6 April 2013
Format:Hardcover
I recently took this book from my bookcase as I wish to do some photographic trips to the Peak District, which is within easy driving range from where I live. I was amazed to see I had bought the book so long ago (in 2000), in a version re-published by Ted Smart for The Book People.

It is much better than most walk books I have come across, being very user-friendly and practical. There are detailed narratives of each walk plus all the information you could need, with maps and elevations of the complete route in each case. What struck me, in this attractive, well laid-out book was the superb quality of the photographs - artistically, technically and in reproduction - and all were taken by the author. They are much better than those found in most dedicated photo books I have seen. The wishy-washy reproduction of the front cover, shown in the product heading, is totally misleading in this respect.

Highly recommended, if you can find a copy.
