Product Description
Simply wheel the Grass Edger along the edge of your lawn, and the steel blade trims the over-hanging grass as you go. The blade is self-sharpening and cuts to a depth of almost 1.1/2. The steel shaft, which measures 43 inches long to avoid back strain, also features moulded hand-grips for extra comfort, and a durable powder-coated finish. An additional feature is a shaped nonskid footrest to exert extra pressure if or when required

Dissapointing,

I am a pensioner and the advertising on this item gives the wrong impression, it is not sharp so it will take a strong person to get it to cut the grass edges, the picture is very misleading as it looks as though one can just walk along the grass verge and only use a little pressure, I tried it and it was hopeless, the blade needs to be sharpened for it to work, at the risk of repeating myself once again the advertising is incorrect. Can only use to trim grass against a hard e.g. paving edge as shown in the illustrations. That said as others have noted it works really well, needing a fair bit of pressure and/or "too-ing and fro-ing" action initially but thereafter quick and effective leaving a nice straight cut. The plastic roller part isn't as strong as a metal one would be and probably won't have a long life, but for the price wouldn't be too costly if the unit needed to be replaced.
