Product Description

Four years ago, Mitch Lawson moved across the breezeway from Mara Hanover and she fell in love with the tall, good-looking police detective who had an uncanny ability to dress well even though he’s single. It was not a stalker kind of love; she knows she has no hope since Mitch is way out of her league. That doesn’t change the fact that he’s her dream man.

Then one day Mara’s faucet won’t turn off and she knows nothing about plumbing. Being a good guy, Mitch offers to help then he invites himself over for pizza. Mara gives it a go but finds herself running away from him (literally) on their first date, standing him up their second and then she runs into him (again literally) on her way to save her ne’er do well, criminal cousin’s kids who’d just run away from their ne’er do well, criminal Dad.

Suddenly, Mara finds she has on her hands the guardianship of two kids and a gorgeous police detective who’s willing to do anything to help out… including giving fabulous foot rubs.

But Mara knows who she is and where she came from and she knows Detective Mitch Lawson is better than her. Hot law man Mitch disagrees and his challenge is to convince Mara to let go of her past and he sets about building a family at the same time he finds he also needs to protect them all against known and unknown adversaries that would tear them apart.

More About the Author

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen's Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing's changed.

All Kristen has ever wanted to do was write (well, and be the Queen of the World, but you gotta start small). Somehow, she got into the charity biz and found another calling. She worked for the Rocky Mountain MS Center and the Colorado Neurological Institute before moving to England. Now she does both, working for The Pituitary Foundation in Bristol, UK by day, sitting at her computer typing out stories by night.

Kristen now lives in England and got there by way of Denver, where she lived for twelve years, but she grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. Her Mom moved her and her brother and sister in with their grandparents when Kristen was six. Her grandparents had a daughter much younger than her Mom so they all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. Kristen grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers and REO Speedwagon (and the wardrobes that matched). Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved Lawman! 10 Dec 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the third in the Dream Man series by this popular author and is set to be another winner for this author. This series revolves around strong alpha men who share a loose connection and the women that come into and then take over their lives. These books are highly addictive(you have been warned!) and almost impossible to put down!
This book features the lovely, shy and totally sweet Mara and her neighbour Mitch who just happens to be the gorgeous Detective that she's been drooling after since he moved into her building four years ago. Mara just doesn't see herself the way others do and truly thinks that someone as sexy and near perfect as Mitch would never be interested in her. Boy is she wrong!
Mitch has long been intrigued by his lovely but painfully shy neighbour and it hasn't gone unnoticed that she seems to try to avoid him! When she suffers a plumbing emergency Mitch is only too willing to help in the hopes that Mara will finally see him as a man but Maras lack of self confidence is a huge stumbling block. They seem destined to never really get together but then Maras family need her help. Mitch isn't the kind of guy to just stand by and watch the woman he's falling for struggle so he's only to ready to step up but families are always complicated and Maras just seem determined to cause her heartbreak.
A fabulous read. Lots going on and it features Ms Ashley's trademark alpha male as the titular hero. Loving the heroine Mara and thought she was absolutely hilarious at times. I had genuine laugh out loud moments as she stumbled around ignorant to Mitch's intentions. Sometimes it didn't matter what Mitch actually said as Maras internal dialogue just ran away with her! She's one girl who really deserves her happy ending and I applaud the author for such an amazing read.

Highly recommend.
Won't be disappointed, especially if you have already read some of Kristen Ashley's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 14 Jun 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thoroughly enjoy they way the characters mingle in to other books and I particularly enjoy the way in which her writing draws you in to the story. It was only a few weeks ago that I stumbled across Kristen Ashley books and have read the majority of them already!! I become so engrossed with the story and characters that I have trouble putting the book down. I wait with bated breathe for the next installments to all of the Kristen Ashleys series!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another hit 9 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I absolutley love everything that Kristen Ashley does. Normally I am not a romance novel person more your blood and gore. I downloaded Rock Chick and then downloaded the complete series all in one go. I then went onto the Dream Man series and i have to say I was not disappointed. Although most of her books are on the same lines you always get hot men, hot sex and plenty of danger. My advice start with Mystery man as they sort of follow on and dont miss out Motorycle Man whatever you do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some Romance with an Alpha Male! 30 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A really easy book to read with a good romantic story line and plenty of sexual tension between the male and female leads, i've enjoyed reading a couple of these (Motorcycle Man being another) they have a nice pace to the story, with very strong Alpha Males and enough sizzling romance to keep you hooked to read through to the end.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm.... 2 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm a big fan of Kristen Ashley ... bit I'm sorry i really didn't enjoy is one and skipped through most of it... the main reason being the heroine of the book annoyed the hell out of me!! She was just so incredibly dumb! She was supposed to be in her early30's but acted very childlike with her thinking. Really disappointed with this one.
