The book was good for some areas of the topic like the competence and free movement of goods part of the subject. However, the book seems to completely miss out free movement of services and freedom of establishment! I don't know whether this might be because it doesn't feature on a lot of undergraduate courses (I have only studied my own!) - but it does on mine so it was a bit of a pain. Good for other areas though, just don't expect everything, don't expect to do well just from reading from this guide as it is only a very basic set out of the topics for people to understand and then build on.

Clearly defines cases, doctrines, treaties and directives and how they all hang together. Even if you are not studying Law EU Law has been maligned for far too long by some UK media and some Parliamentarians - this will even out that imbalance and perhaps reveal that all is not as is portrayed by such nay-sayers!

I bought this book because I was struggling at grasping the principles of EU law in my alevel course. It may be intended for undergraduates but it is easily comprehensible to a younger audience and it breaks down each topic into manageable parts, with some pretty useful flow diagrams and such for revision. The model answers are more targeted towards the type of essays undergraduates would be presented with, but nonetheless the basic premise is useful for many of the questions in my exam. Much better than what is covered in the standard course textbook.
