5.0 out of 5 stars Clear and informative 15 Jun 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The law of armed conflict is a complex area of study; diffuse sources, various legal regimes and the ultimate question of enforcement all threaten to cloud what is a fascinating and very relevant field of study. Rogers' work on the subject is exceptional. Not only does he set out with remarkable precision and clarity the rules applicable to armed conflict, he routinely imports case studies and examples from military practice. References are made to the practice of forces in Iraq and Kosovo, in particular, and help to illustrate how rules apply in practice. I've used this book to complement materials provided as part of an LLM course on the subject, but it should be equally helpful to those on undergraduate courses or those working in the military.
