Quite simply the most authoritive book I've seen about L&H, includes theirs lives, their films and many many examples of gags and scripts that ended up on the cutting room floor (never to be 'seen' again). It's a crime that some of the gags that were cut (for time sake). But at least we have the chance of knowing what they contained.

Every film is well documented, with details of what was happening on and off screen at the time.

If you need to know anything about L&H this book should have it. Great value for money!!

An excellent read, for die hard fan or otherwise.Skretvedt fills the book with impressive amounts of research ,and uncovers plenty of unseen scripts from all the films, fascinating stuff, whilst also managing to review their lives and work with humour, respect and passion.I couldn't put the book down, and still regularly pick it up for bite size chunks of reading. My thanks to the author!

Quite simply, the only Laurel and Hardy book anyone needs. Fact-packed, well-illustrated and amazingly informative about the films. After several editions, pretty much factually correct in all areas, and very revealing for newcomers rgearding the work and lives of these two comedy legends. An essential resource for "buffs" and aficionados, and fascinating reading for anyone interested in cinema history.
