Two out of three ain't bad!,
By mistersmith@tinyworld.com (Yorkshire, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Laurel & Hardy - Any Old Port (3on1) (B) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I agree with Richard Mackenzie; "Any Old Port" is hilarious and includes the classic boxing match with Stan clinging on to his opponent for dear life. It is intersting to compare this boxing scene with the one in "The Battle of the Century", also on this tape. An incomplete silent film from 1927 which is nevertheless a joy to watch. "On The Wrong Trek", a Charley Chase film, was interesting to watch but if you blink you miss Laurel and Hardy's appearance. All in all this tape is worth buying for the first two films but I do wonder why the third was included on a tape supposedly of Laurel and Hardy comedy classics.

2 Great Laurel and Hardy Comedy Classics,
By A Customer
This review is from: Laurel & Hardy - Any Old Port (3on1) (B) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Any Old Port is a very funny **** 20 minute Comedy Short from 1932 which has survived to a very good condiction, The Battle of the Century is a very rare 20 minute short from 1927 but only parts of the comedy survive to nowadays but what survives of it gets *****. The last film on the tape is "On The Wrong Trek". It is a late Charlie Chase comedy from 1936 which Laurel and Hardy play as walk ons (more or less), as a Laurel and Hardy Comedy *, as a Charlie Chase Comedy ****. P.S. leave this tape to next time, this isn't one of the best.
