This review is from: Laurel & Hardy - Angora Love [VHS] (VHS Tape)
No matter how many times I see these 3 short films of theirs (or indeed any of their films), I never get tired of them. Laurel & Hardy are simply unbeatable in screen comedy; they're eternally funny. The idea of "Angora Love" with The Boys staying in a room with a goat, was later done with a dog in the more popular "Laughing Gravy". -And to a certain extent in "The Chimp". The stories may be very similar, but we forgive them that, and we still love the 3 films. The picture quality of the remastered "The Chimp" is surprisingly good for such an old film, which sadly can't be said of the early silent "Flying Elephants". -This weird StoneAge tale has always been a favourite of mine, but sadly it's never been in the best of conditions. Also, the music and the sound effects here are way off for the most part, nearly spoiling the fun. (-The sound effects are a lot better in its classic German TV version, with much better suited music and hilarious narration.) Nevertheless, this L&H tape is a sure must for all true fans. Buy or cry.
