Account of a range of comedians with individual chapters on Monty Python, Morecambe and Wise, Pete and Dud (before their shabbier incarnation), Frankie Howerd etc. It was published in 1971 and though there have been some very good full length studies of individual artists since then this remains an illuminating and well-written book - avoiding the portentousness of Eric Midwinter's Make 'Em Laugh, for example - and an excellent starting point for finding out about some of these stars, although you might be able to buy it more cheaply from abe books. Don't know about Nathan's other credentials but he cowrote a biography of Hancock with the comedian's second wife.
