Product Description

Dobbs is an undercover psychic detective on the trail of the greatest gold robbery ever conceived. So large that it’s taken quite some time, millennia in fact, to plan and get everything in place. Now it seems all the thieves have to do, in this romantic and deeply obscure psychedelic thriller, is blow the safe door but that’s not as easy as it might sound. There’s only one thing powerful enough to bust through the walls of this time-locked vault system, and that’s karma - if you can harness enough of it and apply it in the right way at the right time. Well, karma mixed in with the essential incendiary ingredients: pain and fear. Then the door can be blown clean off its hinges.

The problem for Dobbs is he’s so undercover that he himself has no clue of his mission and is driven by a fateful blast of laughing gas at Reading Rock Festival two years prior that hooked him up to, what felt like, all the sadness in the world. Little did he know that a Tempest of the most Shakespearian proportions had entered his life on that day and is about to sweep him away to the depths of the Peruvian Amazon, on a mission to find Ariel, Prospero’s boding spirit.

Join Dobbs, in this nitrous fueled quest to find the only thing left he believes can stop that which haunts him after a blast of Laughing Gas; a miracle.

Just because you are your final destination doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a bumpy ride!

A non-fiction ayahuasca tale

If Paul Theroux had teamed up with William Burroughs & then Robert Anton Wilson had sat & edited their manuscript, they still would have fallen short of producing this masterpiece. Visionary & shockingly daring! - Steven Ashe - Qabalah of 50 Gates.

If you ever feel doubt, fear, shame or apathy about life this book will give you the inspiration move through it and live your dreams.

Yes this is travel book, a political journey, a historical text, a spiritual revelation, a psychedelic experiment but most all it's a guide and map of today's great questions. Unprecedented times request unprecedented thought paradigms and signposts through the humanitarian crises happening today. On many levels, politically, environmentally, emotionally and spiritually David Field offers not just new information and ways of seeing but a affirmation of one's power to chose to make a difference in one's own unique way and to make inspired visions come true.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and educational 24 Dec 2012

This book is an account of a trip (in several senses of the word) to the modern-day Amazon.

The author - and his renegade fellow travellers - arrive at Iquitos, a tiny town on the banks of the Amazon, to take the visionary drug, Ayahuasca, in search of the story that turns out to be Laughing Gas.

If anyone has ever wondered what this mind-altering shamanic drug experience is like, Laughing Gas tells you all you need to know - and more: plenty of curiosity-satisfying detail including its ghastly physical effects too.

The town of Iquitos is vividly described. It's a travel book in that way. There's romance, of sorts: the author falls in love, laden with guilt for his partner back home but infatuated by a female beauty (and too few lines of her own except as a prompt...).

At heart, is the the narrator's passionate concern for a planet running on depleted oil reserves. I wish the politics had been explained more patiently. But it does point readers to Rob Newman's The History of Oil

[...]

The book is flawed, exuberant and entertaining (probably like the author whom I met when he was campaigning as a Bristol mayoral candidate in 2012). It is a good companion - a rollocking read.
