The clues are all in English but the answers are almost all in Latin! This is not a scholarly book - anyone whose schooldays taught them amo, amas, amat will be able to make a stab at many of the puzzles. And some of the answers are obvious even if you have no Latin at all - e.g. Q. Existing condition of a very old pop group? (6,3) A. Status Quo! Still for those who enjoy a challenge, the puzzles do get harder as you work your way through the book, ending up with some really fiendish ones. There are still lots of jokes along the way.
About the Author
Peter Jones was a senior lecturer in Classics who published the best-selling Reading Latin and Reading Ancient Greek and now writes regularly for The Times, Daily Telegraph, Guardian and Spectator, as well as beginning a new series on Radio Four. David Dare-Plumpton has an MA in Classics and is a regular compiler of crosswords for the national press.

I was impressed overall by the presentation of this book. Attractive cover, very clear lay out, in marked contrast to earlier purchases of Latin Crossword books. Good size text and grids. I liked the way that clues are themed, and that a glossary is provided. An ideal gift for anyone of any age. Brilliant

I hate crosswords as a rule, but this brilliantly entertaining book made my weekend. If you're a geek and your Latin's reasonably good, buy this book today.
If you're just starting at Latin, however, I recommend 'Easy Latin Crossword Puzzles' instead. Of course, if you're not a geek, or if you don't have any Latin, this book is not for you.

The book arrived in excellent condition! No dog-eared edges, a clean copy as promised. Shipping was a bit slower than expected, but still, I'm thoroughly satisfied! Highly recommended!
