As I said- Brilliant! Despite being many years older than the maccabees. their music appeals to me. With the current trend of 'real' bands, after all the nonsensical manufactured music of the 90s, these guys show great promise.
I've been thinking about other successful indie bands, and one of the main differences between them and the maccabees is that you couldn't replace Orlando's voice with someone else's. Many current bands, I feel, could replace the lead singer with someone else, and not change very much. The lead singer of the maccabees could not be replaced. He's part of the uniqueness of the band( as well as writing the songs!). The guitarists are talented chaps. Very young, so much more can be expected of them in the near future, and the drummer (with a most cool name!!), keeps it all together.
The maccabees deserve to do well. I've seen them live and they're even better! Buy this single and it will become a treasured classic! (They've just been signed by a major record company).
