I wasn't really expecting too much of this 2nd book in the Bloodrunners trilogy (see my review of Last Wolf Standing), but was pleasantly surprised (even tho the guy on the cover didn't do anything for me). Having been intro to the world of the Bs in the prev book, I was able to follow this one more easily, and it was lovely to find the leads from the prev book featuring briefly in this one, and to find that they are now married. What does disappoint is that I'd been expecting more of the hot, sexy love/sex scenes that I associate with this author from her prev works - there were a few, but it was for either/or of the characters, if you know what I mean, and they don't in fact get it on til the penultimate paragraph. When they do, yes it's hot, sexy and romantic, as they're true mates who have been waiting for each other for the right time to come together. I did enjoy the book, and from the brief preview of LW Watching, I know that that one already sounds good. Apparently the author will now be writing books 4 and 5, due out in 2009 or so, which is great, as there were other males mentioned that deserve their own books. She is also contracted to write another series under the same publisher, Primal Instincts.
