Product Description

Review

Rosie Rushton is a much-acclaimed writer of teenage fiction, and is something of catch for Andersen Press. This is cutting-edge stuff - precisely the kind of book teenagers would pick for themselves.

Product Description

It all seemed like such a good idea at the time; a plan that would punish Mum for what she'd done and make me happy for the first time in ages. I should have realised; the warnings were staring me in the face. But it's funny what you don't notice when you want so very much to believe in something and someone. You can go on kidding yourself for ages - until that moment when you realise that your life is on the line. That's when you discover the real meaning of love - and sometimes it's not at all what you expect.

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't leave home without it.....!, 28 Dec 2002
By Lisa Davies (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Katie Fordyce is 15 years old who, after having family problems skives off school and meets Joe. Everything about Joe, in Katies opinion, is totally perfect and after discovering he knows what her life is like, she goes on the run with him.

I wasn't sure on buying this book at first. Rosie Rushton isn't a well known author but I'd definitely recommend it. The plot derives around Katie, her Mum, her autistic brother Tom and Grace, a family friend. The book's been written as diary entries by each person, exploring the nature of the situation. This is good as it keeps the book interesting.

I'd recommend this book to anyone over 13- even parents! It's a fantastic read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Last seen wearing trainers, 25 Jul 2004
By A Customer
'Last seen wearing trainers' was a great book and i enjoyed it because i have never read anything like it before(It is a thriller, an adventure and a love story. It seems very real and we feel for the characters). It is about a 15 year old girl called Katie who runs away with her boyfriend because of her alcoholic mother. We follow Katie as she escapes and we share her emotions as she finds out the truth about herself. She realises the meaning of love and how she cannot run away from the past. This is a great novel by a wonderful author and i encourage you to read this book.
