This a wonderful, compelling read which gives an insight to survival at sea.
But more than that, it holds up a mirror to all of us as we see the emotional struggles within a family of love, despair, desperation, bitterness and most of all, hope.
This book should be read by everyone but most of all by anyone who is about to set off on any journey whether physical, spiritual or emotional. It puts everything into perspective.

A real page turner, this book will hold the readers interest from cover to cover. A remarkable true story covering three shipwrecks occuring over two generations and the effects they had on the lives of the Robertson family. The main story covers the voyage of the Lucette, her attack by killer whales and subsequent sinking in the Pacific as well as the familys' incredible journey home across seven hundred and fifty miles of open ocean catching food and water as they went in their three man open boat Ednamair. This book will make the reader feel truly humbled and leave them to marvel at the human spirit and what it can achieve when put to the test.
This book is an inspiration when dealing with the trails and tribulations affecting everyday life and I recomend it to all.

An incredible and emotional journey explained in a day by day chronology, beginning as a family's exciting adventure sailing around the world that turns into a gripping fight for survival on a raft.
The story of The Lucette is an inspiration in itself, but the description of the Robertson family's survival I found truly amazing.
I also thought the book to be a more in-depth portrayal of the story than the film originally shown on TV a few years ago.
I thoroughly reccommend it!
