5.0 out of 5 stars Early Savoy Brown reborn? 25 Jun 2010
By Grum
Format:Audio CD
Foghat, with just one original member, return to their roots? A blues album, incredibly reminiscent of early Savoy Brown. It's terrific. Needle & Spoon, Louisiana Blues, So Many Roads, Rollin' & Tumblin', It Hurts Me Too, Shake Your Moneymaker etc., plus a couple with Eddie Kirkland. For me, the downside is a tacked on nearly 10 minute live version of Slow Ride, one of their 'hits'. It's very good, but perhaps inappropriate given the overall context of the album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Listenable 14 July 2010
Format:Audio CD
This is one of those albums that gets you in a mood that you want to get back to again and again. If you love Blues Rock this is for you, inventive, inspired and beautifully produced, whilst the well judged addition of boogie piano and soulful harmonica gives the overall guitar driven sound an extra spacious feel. All the tracks are good with two special treats from guest 86 year young Eddie "Bluesman" Kirkland rounding off an album which, thanks to drummer Roger Earl's rhythmic precision and pace, is unquestionably true to Foghats enviable pedigree.
